Strawberry season is/was short this year in North Carolina. Lots of rainy, cool days made it that the strawberries were not able to be picked until May 20th at our favorite strawberry farm, McAdams Farm in Efland, NC. We picked 3 gallons of berries, and Eric was very evil in smushing (yes, that is a word:) berries on me. I retaliated, of course, to defend my honor. We were “red in the face” when we got home.
Last night we made some amazing strawberry daiquiris. Recipe to follow. Later will be strawberry ice cream.
4 cups cut strawberries
1 cup rum
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup lime juice
Put all in the blender and add 2+ cups ice (individual taste). Whirl, and taste test. Drink hearty, me laddies and lassies! Strawberry Fields Forever!
